The Uganda Partners team for this 10th Anniversary visit
represented the UK, the US, and Australia.
The former Archbishop of Canterbury, George Carey, and his wife
Eileen were here when UCU was founded. The Rt. Rev. Ray Smith and
his wife, Shirley work with UCU Partners in Australia. The Rt. Rev.
James Stanton from Dallas, and wife Diane have been long time
supporters of UCU, and Diane is Executive Director of Uganda
Partners USA.
The rest of the team came from all parts of the US.
Landing in Entebbe and starting from Kampala (see map below), the
group travelled to the far southwest, Kabale. Some went on to Queen
Elizabeth National Park, and Mburo Park. All took part in the
graduation at UCU in Mukono. The photo at left is at the Colline

The distance from Kampala to Kabale is about 116 miles, but takes
about 6 hours to travel.
On the way south, travellers cross the Equator - a 1 and a half
hr trip.
The distance from Kampala to Mukono is about 20 miles, with a
travel time of about 1 hr.
The distance from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park is
about 170 miles, or 8 hrs.
Uganda encloses 91,136 sq. mis., making it slightly smaller than
the State of Oregon (95,997 sq. mis.).
